Since its inception in 1966, Episcopal Children's Services has used research and best practices to help families ensure their children enter school ready to learn. Through the generosity of donors like you, we have served more than 50,000 children and their families in seven counties in Northeast Florida – Baker, Bradford, Clay, Duval, Nassau, Putnam and St John's.
In 2013, Episcopal Children’s Services opened Episcopal Early Learning Academy to provide Jacksonville children with a warm, nurturing environment that encourages the development of the whole child — physically, socially, emotionally, and intellectually. Profits from Early Learning Academy tuition strengthen the financial foundation of ECS and allow us to serve even more low-income families.
Research has shown that at age 4, children who live below the federal poverty line ($20,000 annually for a family of four) are 18 months below the developmental norm for their age group. Further, by age 10, that gap is still evident; with time, that achievement gap can lead to inequality in ability, achievement, health, and adult success. We invite you to join us in creating a culture of educational excellence for all of Jacksonville’s children, regardless of their families’ ability to pay for private instruction.
By donating to Episcopal Early Learning Academy and its sister schools, Early Learning Academy at Exchange South and Early Learning Center at Good Shepherd, or Episcopal Children’s Services ( parent company), you are ensuring that our city’s underserved children continue to receive access to research-driven Head Start and Early Head Start programming.
In addition to supporting educational programs, your gift will help provide:
- Professional development for teachers and staff
- Innovative technology resources for children and staff
- Improvements to facilities and playgrounds
- Mental health services
- Curriculum development
Make a difference in a child's life today. Together, we can close the achievement gap and ensure that all children have an opportunity believe, achieve, and soar with Episcopal Children's Services.
